This is Shark HQ.

You’re surfing in Thurso in the far north of Scotland. Welcome to the official home of the Pathetic Sharks.
The team was established in 1987 and over it’s history it’s changed names several times.

  • 1987 – Newmarket FC
  • 1993 – Ormlie Motors FC
  • 1996 – – The Coral Lounge Football Club
  • 1999 – Safeway
  • 2000 – The Co-op
  • 2001 – Pathetic Sharks
  • 2003 – Sharks fc

This Caithness football went from Losers to Legends and there have been special moments, going from bottom of the table to league and cup champions, appearing on BBC TV and featuring and playing in the FHM Magazine cup – are just some for starters!

Many great players have pulled on the famous jersey:- forget Messi, Pele, Maradona and keep your David Beckam – Sharks FC have had the likes of Davie Hobbs, Graham Lowe and the legendary Colonel Daffy!

2019 marks the return of the Sharks football web site after a decade of silence. Things have changed A LOT since we were last updating regularly. We live in very different times. When our web site was at its peak we were broadcasting video clips in a format only matched in the UK by the BBC and Channel 4’s Big Brother. Now we have YouTube and EVERYBODY is doing it!

With the team now retired this site is all about distraction, keeping the lads legacy alive – and getting some new plans together. Plus we also want to celebrate the other great teams of the Thurso & District Friendly League and Caithness 7s too. This is a tribute to players, managers and supporters – past, present and future – and to soccer winners and soccer losers around the world!

Look out for weekly updates – including historic pages and video. In the meantime find us on Facebook and Twitter.
